Group CEO Lars Lindén to leave Ragn-Sells 

Lars Lindén is leaving the Ragn-Sells Group after nearly ten years as Group CEO. Madeleine Ljunggren, currently CEO of Ragn-Sells Treatment & Detox Sweden, will assume the role of Acting Group CEO from 1 March. 

“I am proud to have led the positive transformation we have achieved together at Ragn-Sells over the past decade. Today, Ragn-Sells is an important part of an increasingly circular society, and I look forward to seeing the company continue that journey,” says Lars Lindén. 

Lars Lindén became Group CEO of the Ragn-Sells Group in August 2016. Under his leadership, Ragn-Sells has grown into an international group with a turnover of around SEK 9 billion, while significantly strengthening results and profitability. 

“The Board and the owner family warmly thank Lars Lindén for the strong results and stability Ragn-Sells has delivered under his leadership. It is now our task to appoint a new Group CEO who can take the work forward,” says Erik Sellberg, principal owner and Chair of the Board of the Ragn-Sells Group. 

Lars Lindén’s tenure as Group CEO has also been characterised by major investments in circular solutions that return raw materials to the cycle. Examples include the Ash2Salt facility in Upplands-Bro, where salts are extracted from fly ash from waste incineration, and plants for recycling window glass and solvents. Two factories for recovering the nutrient phosphorus from sewage sludge are now being built in eastern Germany and Helsingborg. 

“If we are serious about building a sustainable society, we must start reusing the raw materials we already have, over and over again. It has been fantastic to lead and develop a strong company that creates profitability by contributing to positive societal development,” says Lars Lindén. 

A testament to this came in 2024, when Lars Lindén received the Sustainable Leadership Award from the Network for Sustainable Business and Ledarna. 

Lars Lindén’s last working day will be 28 February. From 1 March, Madeleine Ljunggren, currently CEO of Ragn-Sells Treatment & Detox Sweden, will take over as Acting Group CEO.
