The Board of the Ragn-Sells Group has appointed Madeleine Ljunggren as the new Group CEO. She comes from the role of CEO of Ragn-Sells Treatment & Detox and was previously the Group’s Chief Financial Officer. Madeleine Ljunggren succeeds Lars Lindén, who has retired.
“Madeleine has had a major role in Ragn-Sells’ positive development in recent years. In a rapidly changing world, her understanding of both the challenges and the opportunities this entails is an important experience that ensures a continued good journey,” says Erik Sellberg, co-owner and Chairman of the Board of the Ragn-Sells Group.
Ragn-Sells is a family-owned group operating in five countries, with 2,700 employees and a turnover of SEK 9,120 million (2025). From its origins as a traditional waste management company, Ragn-Sells has expanded its business, added advanced circular solutions, and taken a leading role in the transition to a circular economy.
“If we are serious about building a sustainable society, we must use the raw materials we have already extracted as many times as possible. Today, the circular transition has also become crucial for the security and competitiveness of both Sweden and Europe. I am therefore proud and grateful for the Board’s trust in letting me continue leading Ragn-Sells’ important work,” says Madeleine Ljunggren.
Madeleine Ljunggren has worked within the Group for nearly 20 years. After many years as Chief Financial Officer, she was appointed CEO of Ragn-Sells Treatment & Detox in 2024. She has served as Acting Group CEO during the spring, following the decision of her predecessor, Lars Lindén, to retire.
“The choice of Madeleine Ljunggren as Group CEO represents continuity and long-term development. Ragn-Sells aims to continue driving the transition to a circular society,” says Erik Sellberg.
Madeleine Ljunggren formally takes up her new role on 1 July.
