Environmental company Ragn-Sells Denmark acquires the majority shares in the Danish trading company GreenPort ApS. The acquisition provides the northern European market with cross-border solutions for the handling of waste flows and the recycling of important materials.

- GreenPort enables us to provide an effective solution for import and export of important materials throughout northern Europe. For a long time, we have been searching for port facilities with the necessary environmental permits, which can help develop our activities in Denmark, says Massimo Forti, CEO of Ragn-Sells Denmark.

Greenport was founded in 2020 with the ambition to improve the import and export of green materials between the north European countries in a more environmentally friendly way.

The port in Køge has a unique position with easy access to the infrastructure in Denmark, as well as the Scandinavian countries and the Baltics using sea transportation. Since the establishment of the Køge port facility, soil and RDF (Refused Derived Fuel) have been the primary materials, but the facility can handle all relevant materials and is approved by the Danish Ministry of the Environment.

- I am delighted to have found a financially solid partner, who has strong complementary businesses, and in-depth knowledge of the industry. Partnering with Ragn-Sells will ensure the synergies needed to make a difference in the Danish market and is expected to result in more materials being recycled, says Daniel Fleischer, CEO and Founder of GreenPort ApS.

On the Swedish market, Ragn-Sells is one of the specialists in treatment of contaminated soil, bottom ash, and hazardous waste. Therefore, this acquisition creates an opportunity to offer the Danish market additional solutions for handling these types of contaminated waste flows.

- I’m happy to have found GreenPort with Daniel at the head, an enterprising and energetic partner who can support our development. We will now be able to provide for example, handling of contaminated soils and residual products, such as fly ash from incineration plants using our Ash2Salt technology, says Massimo Forti.

In conjunction with the acquisition of the shares, the company is also changing its’ name to Ragn-Sells Greenport A/S and becomes part of the Ragn-Sells Group.
