Ragn-Sells launches digital training course – aims to change view on waste

Ragn-Sells is now launching its award-winning e-learning What a waste! Think Circular to the general public. What a waste! is a free digital training course designed to increase understanding of the circular economy and change how we view waste. The course originated as an internal initiative at Ragn-Sells and was awarded the 2025 Publishing Prize in the education category.

As resource scarcity and climate challenges rise on the global agenda, the need for knowledge on how society can transition from a linear to a circular economy is growing. With What a waste!, Ragn-Sells aims to raise awareness and inspire customers, partners, and a broader audience to take action by combining facts, practical examples, and interactive elements.

– What a waste! is for anyone who wants to understand how we can use the planet’s resources more efficiently – from customers and decision-makers to students and employees. By making complex issues accessible, we want to contribute to real change, says Cecilia Zarbell, Brand and Communication Director at Ragn-Sells.

The training is based on Ragn-Sells’ perspective that waste is a valuable resource. By demonstrating how materials can be circulated and recycled to a greater extent, the company aims to challenge the traditional view of waste as something without value.

– Our message is clear: we want to change how people view waste. If we are serious about building a sustainable society, we must start using the raw materials we have already produced, over and over again. With this e-learning, we want to help more people understand why that matters and realise that what is seen as waste today can become an important resource tomorrow, continues Cecilia Zarbell.

The e-learning course is divided into short modules and can be completed at your own pace. It is available in Swedish, English, Norwegian, Danish, Estonian and German, and can be accessed via the Ragn-Sells websites below.
